Don’t Die With the Music in You

Stacy Francis, 42-year old single mother of two, did not want to die with the music inside her. Bless her heart.

After 12 years of being told she was too old and not talented enough, she lost faith in herself. However, she had a dream – a passion – took a chance and auditioned for The X Factor.

Watch the above YouTube video (if you haven’t seen it already) and be inspired by not only her courage & talent, but by the judges’ and audience’s (4,304 of them) outpouring of love and admiration for her. She connected with every one of them!

Thanks to Adam Urbanski who featured this video in an online event he hosted last week. Since I don’t own a TV, this was the first time I’d ever seen it. Needless to say, it touched my heart (and I needed a box of tissues close by) so I wanted to share it with you.

Is there music inside you? It doesn’t have to be a song, it could be any skill or talent that you’re passionate about, but have buried inside or let others tell you that you could not achieve. Now is your time. Be grateful for your gift(s) and go for it.

Please share your dreams in the comments section below. I’d love to hear from you. And, have a Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. Oh, my gosh. I love those X Factor videos! Made me cry. So inspirational! I also love the Dr. Seuss quote :). Yes, there’s music in me and I’m living it and being me :).

    • As I mentioned on the blog Leanne, I don’t have a TV so I haven’t seen The X Factor (just recently discovered that I can watch “The Voice” online). In his online event, Adam showed several clips from the show & each one was an emotional & inspirational one.
And, Dr. Seuss has some fabulous quotations we can all live by.

Glad to see that you’re out there expressing the music in you. Have a blast. ~Debra

  2. Hi Debra,

I watched this “live” when it aired on television. I cried that night, too. 🙂

I also know where this gal is coming from; I lived in an abusive relationship for many years. It’s no picnic for someone to tell you day in and day out that you’re worthless and will never make anything of yourself.

Thank goodness, she had the fortitude to keep believing in herself enough to audition!

    • I guess there are many episodes of the X Factor that bring up emotions. People pursuing their dreams can do that. I hope, like Stacy, you too have pulled yourself up by the bootstraps @Bonnie and now believe in yourself wholeheartedly. Thanks for sharing a little piece of yourself here. ~Debra
