I love to dance. And, having been a disc jockey and a disco dance instructor at a discotheque – back in “the day” – I openly admit it, I love disco. When I mention that, most often people look at me like I’m crazy or they make negative remarks about disco music.
Next time someone laughs off disco dancing, I’m going to show them this video. It’s fabulous and shows disco is timeless.
Most of the people you’ll see dancing here were deceased before the Bee Gees recorded “Stayin’ Alive.” Whether you are a Bee Gees’ or Rita Hayworth fan or not…you are going to enjoy this!
My faves are Gene Kelly & Fred Astaire, but you’ll see Frank Sinatra, Phil Silvers and others having fun dancing. Plus, it’s amazing to watch how the various clips are synchronized with the music – someone spent a lot of time splicing this together. Very creative!
Nine 9 times out of 10, when I’m somewhere and they play disco music, just about EVERYONE gets up to dance. They smile, they laugh and they have a great time. It’s fun, it’s uplifting and just makes you feel good.
Now, what does this have to with marketing and copywriting you might ask? Well, I thought about how to answer that question and decided, rather than try to be clever and come up with an analogy, I just wanted to share something fun and inspirational with you on this Labor Day holiday.
