Wondering Why Your Business Should Get On Instagram Now?

Instagram for businessThanks to guest blogger, Sarah Davidson.

You may have heard that Instagram is the hottest social platform to use for promoting your business today. With more than 300 million active users and a projection of reaching one billion users in the next few years, it’s fast becoming one of the most popular social media networks.

Right now, Instagram is by far the easiest social media platform to get targeted web traffic, leads, and customers. I know many business owners who are wasting a TON of time on social networks (especially on their Facebook fan pages!) and getting very little to show for it, but Instagram is different. It’s so much easier to create great engagement and get new targeted followers.

Instagram drives very high quality traffic to your website. Whether you have a service business or sell physical products, it is a fantastic way to build your list and get new customers.

NOW is the time to get on the Instagram bandwagon! Remember how people who jumped on Facebook and Twitter in the early days were rewarded with amazing visibility and built huge followings? Well this is the time to jump on Instagram because the secret is getting out.

Four reasons why I love Instagram:

#1. There’s no crazy algorithm like Facebook to determine who sees your posts.

#2. You don’t have to pay for ads to get noticed.

#3. Your content isn’t buried within seconds like it is on Twitter.

#4. It is very little work (one of the best things about it, in my opinion). You don’t have to post multiple times a day like Facebook and Twitter to see great results. You can easily use your Instagram posts on your Facebook page, and you will get more visibility on those Facebook posts because Facebook is promoting Instagram (they bought Instagram in 2012). You can also use your Instagram posts for Twitter and your blog, saving even more time.

When your prospects see your posts on Instagram, you have their full attention. They only see one post at a time in their news feed, and there are no distractions like there are on Facebook and Twitter (where there are tons of links and ads).

“I’m already on Facebook so why Instagram?”

Yes, I know. You’re already on Facebook and Twitter — why Instagram? Everyone loves pictures and Instagram is visual. Visuals are very powerful and can grab your viewers’ attention quickly.

Even if you don’t think you have a visual business, it’s easy to create great visual content. Think about motivational quotes, tips and tutorials, behind-the-scenes shots of your business and more. There are tons of great ways to use Instagram images (and videos up to 15 seconds) to establish a great connection with your target audience.

Awesome post, Sarah. Do you think that Instagram will follow suit with Facebook’s post screening?
